J. J. 马里诺 J. J. Marino

J. J. Marino is an Italian contemporary artist born in Naples in 1978. His practice explores the dialectic relationship between the collective and the individual, capturing miniature figures en route to unknown destinations. By imbuing each character—who may appear uniform at a glance—with a distinct palette, personality, and energy, Marino challenges the perception of crowds as monolithic units, revealing them instead as the vibrant sum of singular human experiences.

The figures in Marino’s paintings are characterized by cheerful, rhythmic gestures, evoking a sense of dance and a hopeful trajectory toward a joyous destination. His work has been extensively exhibited across the globe, including solo and group shows in New York and Seoul, and featured in major international art fairs from London and Hong Kong to Melbourne and Amsterdam. He currently lives and works in Italy.
