ARTIST 艺术家
安藤忠雄 Tadao Ando
Tadao Ando is a world-renowned architect and the 1995 Pritzker Architecture Prize laureate. He is celebrated for his minimalist aesthetic and his mastery of exposed smooth-surface concrete. Ando’s practice is dedicated to crafting poetic spaces within a rigorous geometric order, integrating natural elements such as light, wind, and water to challenge the boundaries between architecture, nature, and the spiritual realm. His iconic works include the Church of the Light, the Church on the Water, and the Chichu Art Museum.
Ando’s body of work transcends physical structure, offering a profound response to the dialogue between Eastern philosophy and modernity. He has designed numerous prestigious museums and interdisciplinary art spaces globally, and his career has been honored with retrospectives at leading institutions and participation in the Venice Biennale. He continues to live and work in Osaka, Japan.
